Communities ‘Walk for Peace’ across Kenya

Jamii Thabiti partners and staff hosted Walk for Peace events in counties and sub-counties throughout Kenya on  Saturday, May 28.

Kaloleni and Malindi

Human Rights Agenda (Huria) worked with communities in Kaloleni and Malindi on the Walk for Peace, a public initiative aimed at highlighting to communities the importance of intercommunal peacebuilding. The event was organised in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy County Commissioner.


In Nakuru county, the people ‘Walked for Peace’ to Nyayo Gardens, where they spoke to members of the public and participants in the walk on the importance of communities  not being divided against each other. The walk was headed by the regional coordinator of Huria, Mr Wanyama Musiambo, and the County Commissioner.


And in Kisumu, Jamii Thabiti partner, LCPI, played a key role in organising the town’s Walk for Peace, which gathered the support of dozens of partners and members of the public as it made its way through the town.
